Jaycee is one of six children and grew up in a competitive household where sports were a central part of life. He spent some of his formative years in Mooreville, Mississippi, where he initially focused more on basketball. Standing at just 5-foot-7 as a freshman, he was considered “shrimpy” by teammates but was a talented basketball player. After his sophomore year, his family moved back to Georgia, and he enrolled at Alpharetta High School. It was here that he had a growth spurt and began to seriously focus on football, quickly developing into a top-tier prospect. As a senior, he recorded 44 tackles and five interceptions, showcasing the skills that would attract attention from major college football programs. His performance earned him a spot in the prestigious 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
