Early Life and Education of Charlotte Flair
Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr was born on April 5, 1986, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to wrestling icon Ric Flair and his then-wife, Elizabeth Harrell. Growing up as the daughter of “The Nature Boy” meant that wrestling was a constant presence in her life, though she did not initially aspire to follow in his footsteps. She has an older half-sister, Megan, and an older half-brother, David, who also had a stint in professional wrestling. Tragically, her younger brother, Reid, passed away in 2013.
Flair was a gifted athlete from a young age, excelling in various sports. At Providence High School, she was a standout volleyball player, winning two NCHSAA 4A state championships and being named team captain and player of the year in her senior year (2004–2005). Her passion for volleyball continued at Appalachian State University, where she played for two seasons before transferring to North Carolina State University.
